Clive Tyldesley: Michael Beale is always complimented in England
Rangers coach Michael Beale has been one of the club’s most influential figures since Steven Gerrard became manager, playing a key role in recent successes.
The 41-year-old is responsible for planning and delivering training sessions having been given the task by Gerrard [BBC], and Clive Tyldesley has revealed that he is regularly being praised by bosses in England.
Beale, a former assistant manager at Sao Paulo, is a major backbone behind the scenes at the Ibrox set-up, and the Rangers TV commentator has been impressed by his bulging reputation.
“My observations are that he’s (Gerrard) got a nicely balanced team around him,” Tyldesley told Football Scotland.
“Michael Beale’s reputation as a coach is growing by the week, I hear a lot of complimentary things said about Michael around Britain when I bump into managers and coaches down south.
“Gary McAllister is one of the most respected and popular people in the British game and I’d think he’s an excellent foil in the dressing room, maybe there’s an element of good cop, bad cop about the pair of them and how they work.
“It’s a delight to be around Gary. Steven has good people around him but for all the years I’ve known him I’ve seen a side to him in the last year that maybe I underestimated.”
Beale will never get all the plaudits he deserves given that he is not the face of the managerial team, but he is arguably the most important member of Rangers backroom staff.
The Bears coach spent 10 years working with Chelsea’s youth sides before moving to Liverpool as their under-16 manager.
He soon became the Reds under-23s boss, working closely with Jurgen Klopp before a brief stint at Brazil top-flight side Sao Paulo in early 2017.
Having spent time working under Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and Guus Hiddink as a full-time youth coach at Chelsea, Beale got the necessary tactical knowledge needed to excel on the training ground, and Rangers have benefited hugely from his expertise.
With his colleagues down south keen admirers of his work, it would not be surprising if he moves to one of the Premier League bigwigs in a bigger capacity soon.
In other Rangers news, a Sky Sports pundit has suggested that Bears man will join PL side should offer arrive.
