Steven Gerrard: Ryan Kent should be back in Rangers training next week

Steven Gerrard has shared a major update on the fitness of Rangers star Ryan Kent on Friday morning.

The winger has been missing through injury since the Europa League defeat against Lyon last month.

Gerrard has confirmed that it is too early for Kent to return against Hearts tomorrow, but that may be the last game he misses with this problem.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, as shared on the official Bears Twitter account, Gerrard included Kent in his squad injury update.

“Kemar Roofe is in transit, we are hoping to have him available but will certainly miss today’s session,” he said.

“Kent is very close and we hope to have him back training after the weekend, Jack is not too far away and will be back in a couple of weeks.”

Brilliant.

We can’t wait to have Kent back, and it looks as though Ryan Jack isn’t far behind him either after returning to the grass.

Although not at his best this season so far, the former Liverpool sensation brings a different dimension in attack with his speed and flair.

Should we pick up three points against Hearts, it will the perfect preparation for the build-up to Brondby and our hunt for the first three points of this Europa League campaign.

Having Kent and Kemar Roofe available, as well as Jack on the verge of his own return, will hand the squad a massive boost.

Gerrard will be counting down the days until he has most of his options back, and leaving out Helander, he should have that luxury in less than two weeks time.
