Kemar Roofe touches down in USA in Rangers race against time

Rangers star Kemar Roofe has been away with Jamaica yet again this week, scoring his first international goal.

The former Leeds man grabbed that goal in the 2-0 win away in Honduras this week, and is now facing a race against time to return to Scotland.

Instead of rushing back after that game, Roofe was spotted recovering around the pool – signs that he was calm regarding his journey home.

Kemar Roofe will be one of plenty to depart Ibrox this summer

Roofe has shared a further update on his personal Instagram account in the last 12 hours, with his journey home started.

The striker posted a story of his plane landing in the United States, where he will no doubt get on a connecting flight to Scotland, or so we hope.

Fingers crossed.

Given that this footage was almost 12 hours ago, there has been plenty of time since for Roofe to hop on another flight.

Usually, you need to stop elsewhere with no direct flights from the United States to Glasgow, but there is hope that the striker may have been given a private charter.

Having said that, are Rangers in that desperate need for the forward? Roofe has been sensational during his time at Ibrox, but Steven Gerrard has the option to replace him.

Alfredo Morelos stayed in Glasgow during this break, so he will lead the line with the likes of Ianis Hagi and Scott Wright behind him.

Given the fatigue and jet lag that is likely, should Roofe make it back, he would likely star ton the bench against Hearts.

After his first goal for Jamaica, the attacker will be on a huge high and that would likely drag him through the clash tomorrow if he is needed to be called upon – time will tell.
