Section of Rangers fans try to get Andy Gray recognition

A section of Rangers fans want former striker Andy Gray included in the Hampden Hall of Fame, according to the Glasgow Times.

The former striker turned pundit had a glittering career, and some Gers fans want his achievements on the pitch to be recognised.

However, Gray has disgraced himself off the pitch and was sacked by Sky Sports after making sexist remarks about a female assistant referee [Guardian].

Should Gray’s achievements be recognised?

There is no question that as a player, Gray was fantastic, and after his career ended, he became one of the voices of Sky Sports.

However, he was forced out of Britain to find work and is now a pundit for beIN SPORTS along with Richard Keys, who also left Sky Sports at the same time.

So the question is, should Gray really be handed this recognition, given that his reputation in the UK is in tatters?

We would argue that it would be better for these Gers fans to try and get someone else included in the Hampden Hall of Fame.

Unfortunately, Gray proved that off the field, he has some very backwards views and ultimately, you can’t really justify including him in the Hampden Hall of Fame.

This is a controversial issue, but we don’t believe that Gray deserves this recognition.

He has spoiled his reputation and to include him in the Hampden Hall of Fam would probably cause problems that are better off avoiding.
