Greg Stewart shares injury update on Rangers star Ryan Jack

Greg Stewart has shared that Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack is closing in on a return from his horrible injury luck this year.

The Scotland international has failed to feature since limping off in the big win over Dundee at Ibrox back in February.

Stewart, close friends with Jack but now playing in India, shared that he has heard only positive news regarding the injury.

Speaking to the Daily Record on Friday, Stewart shared some brilliant news that will leave everyone surrounding Ibrox buzzing.

“It’s been a difficult one for Ryan,” he said. “He’s had a couple of problems but from what I hear it won’t be long before he’s back on the pitch.

“That’s great news – it will be like a new signing for the team because we’ve missed him. Every team would miss having a Ryan Jack in their line-up as he’s got a bit of everything about him.”

Excellent.

The midfield is crying out for someone such as Jack this season.

It hasn’t been the best of starts to the campaign, despite sitting top of the Scottish Premiership – they are the high standards that are set at Ibrox.

Jack is one of those players who aren’t afraid to grab any situation round the collar and drag his teammates along if needed, and that figure has been missing sorely.

Steven Davis has been rest more regularly this season for John Lundstram, and although the new signing is starting to impress, he can’t offer what Jack can at the early stage of his Ibrox career.

As Stewart mentions, this will be like a new signing and hopefully give the whole squad a huge boost as they look to extend this gap at the top of the table.

This is the most important Scottish Premiership season in years given the new Champions League standings, and having players like Jack available will only help the cause more – bring it on.
