Neil McCann hits out at Rangers trio after Hibs win
Despite Rangers beating Hibs on Sunday night, Neil McCann was left unimpressed with the performance of certain players.
After going down to an early Kevin Nisbet goal, Gers showed great courage to score two goals and pick up the three points.
They were helped by the fact that Hibs were down to ten men, but will take the result, no questions asked.
Discussing the Nisbet goal on Rangers TV, McCann, a BBC pundit said, “It’s shocking. Three bodies (around Nisbet). Patterson is coming in at the back post, but Connor Goldson and John Lundstram are standing there.
“Goldson and Lundstram are culpable, and that shouldn’t happen.
“(Borna) Barisic must do more to stop the cross coming in. I think it’s a lazy little leg out, and he has to properly go out and impact him to stop the ball coming in.”
Gers will take the three points but when they sit to analyse this performance, there will be plenty of questions asked.
The defence was all over the place for Nisbet’s goal and it was uncharacteristic of what we’re used to seeing of Gerrard’s side.
They did not look like they knew what they were doing and deservedly went behind.
Lundstram is continuing to have games where he has good moments and then does things like these that let the opposition gain the upper hand.
If Gers want to win the league convincing this must not happen and Gerrard needs to address this issue as soon as possible.
That said, he will sleep well tonight knowing that his side are back on top of the table.
