Michael Beale slams Rangers fan for criticising tactics in 2-1 win v Hibs

Rangers came from a goal down to secure a 2-1 win against Hibs at Ibrox on Sunday, heading into the international break as league leaders.

Kevin Nisbet put the visitors ahead eight minutes into the game, but they had their work cut out for them after Ryan Porteous was sent off for a tackle on Joe Aribo 15 minutes from half-time.

Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos produced the goods in the second-half, but some Rangers fans were not pleased with Steven Gerrard’s tactics and Light Blues coach Michael Beale has hit back at one on Twitter.

He said on his personal account: “22 home league wins out of the last 23 and one league defeat in 47 games.

“How about you support the players?”

Spot on

Some fans are never pleased, and while Rangers have indeed struggled to get results this term, nobody should be questioning the dedication of this team and the coaches.

They continue to put in the hard yards during training, and it is not their fault that injuries and covid-19 complications have disrupted their squad’s strength this term.

Playing against 10-man Hibs might have handed the Bears an advantage, but they fought well to earn all three points, and that is all that matters.

Their impressive league record at Ibrox is enviable, and they will be looking to get better.

Turning things around after half-time and heading into the international break with a win and as leaders is a massive boost.

Most of the Rangers players will be getting deserved rest in the coming days, and that should help recharge their batteries ahead of the resumption.

Understandably, fans want last season’s version of this team back, but a lot has changed since then, and as long as they keep getting the results, they should be fully backed.
