Charlie Adam discusses Rangers man Juninho Bacuna
Charlie Adam feels bad for Rangers man Juninho Bacuna after he was substituted against Sparta Prague with an injury.
The 24-year-old finally got his first start after patiently waiting on the sidelines, but he didn’t even make it to half-time, and Adam was clearly disappointed for Bacuna.
Speaking to BBC Scotland, the former Ibrox midfielder revealed his thoughts on Bacuna’s evening.
He said: “Bacuna’s waited for his chance, and this was his big opportunity. It’s a blow for him in his first start, and hopefully, he’ll be back soon.”
A disappointing night for Bacuna.
The 24-year-old has been sitting on the bench and appearing as a substitute for the last few weeks now.
So, he was given his chance to make an impression for the Gers, but unfortunately, injury cruelly denied him that opportunity.
Hopefully, it turns out to be nothing too concerning, and the midfielder can be back in action soon.
He has plenty of EFL experience, and you would think that he can make a difference once he is up to speed.
However, tonight wasn’t his or the Gers’ night as they slipped to their second defeat in a row in the Europa League.
Bacuna didn’t really do much while he was on the field, but it is still never nice to see a player brought off with an injury.
As Adam said, this was his big chance, and we just have to hope the injury isn’t too bad.
