On-loan Rangers man Nikola Katic doing well on loan

The Daily Record report that on-loan Rangers man Nikola Katic is performing well for Hajduk Split and that things are looking good for the Croatian.

The 24-year-old has had a nightmare with injuries, and the Gers sent him out on loan to get him some more game time.

They can recall Katic should he impress, or Steven Gerrard decides that he wants him back, and it seems as if things are going well for Katic [Scottish Sun].

The report states: “At Hajduk Split, Katic played his first 90 minutes in over 18 months in the Croatian Cup clash with minnows Primorac Biograd. Despite being dropped to the bench for the following clash with NK Lokomotiva, things are looking up for the Croat as he looks to make a case to Steven Gerrard for a top team return.”

Positive signs for Katic.

The 24-year-old is a player who Gerrard loves, and you would think he still has a future at Ibrox [STV].

He just has to use this loan spell to get some valuable game time in his legs and prove to the Bears that he can still perform at the top level and can still be useful for Rangers.

In a recent interview, he claimed that his injury worries are over, and it is now up to him to prove that he can deliver for a full season [Daily Record].

He has made two appearances so far for Hajduk, and we would hope that many more are just around the corner for Katic.

We don’t believe that his time with the Gers is over, but this is an important moment in his career after such a rough time with injuries.

If he manages to get through the season injury-free and becomes an important player for Hajduk, we expect to see him in Gerrard’s first team next season.

If not, then we do worry for the Croatian.

In other Rangers news, Sparta Prague have an injury crisis to deal with ahead of Thursday.
