Gerrard shares Rangers team news v Dundee: Ryan Kent out for 3-4 weeks

Rangers have no fresh injury concerns ahead of their trip to Dundee on Saturday, Steven Gerrard has confirmed.

Gerrard’s men will make their way to Dens Park in the Scottish Premiership this weekend in a bid to build upon their one-point lead at the top of the table.

Ianis Hagi and Nathan Patterson both returned from spells on the sidelines for the Scottish League Cup win against Livingston on Wednesday.

However, there’s still a wait for Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack to make their returns.

As quoted by the club’s official Twitter account on Friday, Gerrard said: “Ryan Kent’s return will be roughly 3-4 weeks but that will depend a lot on the rehab process.

“Ryan Jack is due back on the training pitch any day now and hopefully get him back with the group in a couple of weeks.”

Mixed news

It’s great that the Gers got through the win over Livingston without any new injury concerns for Gerrard to worry about.

However, despite Kent’s disappointing start to the season, it’s annoying that he could miss up to four weeks’ worth of action now.

It means that we might not see the former Liverpool attacker play for the Light Blues until well after the upcoming international break.

As for Jack, at least he’s making some progress.

We’ve definitely missed the ex-Aberdeen central midfielder so to have him available again will be a massive boost for Gerrard and his side’s chances of securing a second consecutive league title.

He may have to wait until after the international break too in order to make his proper return to first-team action but it’s good to see that someone who’s had such bad injury issues in the last 12 months is making progress.

We’re confident of a win at Dundee this weekend.

We just hope that no more injuries are suffered because it has hindered our start to the season.
