Amy Irons predicts Rangers clash v St Johnstone

Amy Irons and Craig Levein have backed Rangers to beat St Johnstone on Saturday afternoon in the Scottish Premiership.

The Sportscene duo have predicted that it will finish 1-2 or 0-1 at McDiarmid Park as we return after the international break.

Irons believes that it will be a tough afternoon for Callum Davidson’s side despite having the home advantage.

Speaking for the BBC, the Sportscene presenter alongside Levein made their predictions for the clash.

“St Johnstone haven’t won yet this season, so they’ll be hoping their fortunes change this weekend,” she said.

“Rangers, on the other hand, they could make it three wins in a row if they do get all three points at McDiarmid Park.

“I think this weekend could be quite tough for them even with home advantage, I think Rangers will just sneak it.”

Tough.

St Johnstone caused us plenty of problems last season, although things have certainly changed since then.

Davidson’s men were juggling the start of the campaign with the European qualifiers and that has seen their league form slide.

Rangers have to take advantage of that and assert their dominance early on as they come out of their own COVID crisis.

With Glenn Middleton ineligible and the home side having sold key players such as Ali McCann, all the balls are in the court of the away side.

Gerrard is back on the touchline after his isolation period, and he will be demanding nothing but three points on his return.
