Steven Gerrard confirms Rangers team news v St Johnstone

Rangers return to Scottish Premiership action on Saturday afternoon as they travel to take on St Johnstone.

Steven Gerrard has returned to the club after being forced into isolation, and confirmed his team news this afternoon.

The Bears will be without three midfielders at McDiarmid Park, with Ryan Jack, Nnamdi Ofoborh and Ianis Hagi out.

Gerrard confirmed the news this afternoon, and his answers were shared on the official club Twitter account.

“We are in decent shape,” he said.

“Obviously, Ianis Hagi is not available. Jack has had a positive week but is not available just yet. Nnamdi (Ofoborh) had a positive week and we should know more on his return in 6-7 days.”

Getting there.

It isn’t the best of news to have all three of these missing, but it looks as though they could all return before the end of the month.

Jack is the big one, he has been missing for months and his experience in the heart of midfield could be the difference to stomping down our authority.

Hagi should only miss one game as it stands, and could be back for the Europa League clash against Lyon.

If Jack and Ofoborh could also return in the next week, we could be going into that huge European tie with a near full-strength side behind us.

That would be huge, but first, we have got to go get three points at McDiarmid Park and continue the momentum from that massive Old Firm win.
