Michael Bridge: Rangers happy with 2021 summer window
Rangers are happy with their four new signings and no major exits this summer, claims Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge.
After an unbeaten league campaign, the Gers looked to strengthen in the summer window and roped in the likes of John Lundstram, Fashion Sakala, Nnamdi Ofoborh and Juninho Bacuna.
Despite an exit from the Champions League, they managed to hold on to their key players with Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos and Borna Barisic staying despite being linked with a move away from the Ibrox.
According to Bridge, there is a mood of positivity inside the Rangers camp as they’re delighted with how the window has transpired.
He told Football FanCast, “I think, for the first time in goodness knows how many years, they seem relatively settled.”
It was important that the Gers did not lose their key names and that’s precisely what happened.
Steven Gerrard may have been open to one or even two leaving after their Champions League knockout, but he now has a stronger team than he did last season which would only be a good thing for Rangers fans.
Recently, they saw their side win the first Old Firm derby of the season and despite a slow start, things have now started to fall in place for the defending Scottish champions.
They will be hoping to go on a run in the Europa League and with a favourable draw, reaching the final four is not beyond them, given the strength they’ve got in reserve.
It remains to be seen how they bounce back, but Gerrard has done this before and we expect Gers to be just fine this season.
