Rangers star Borna Barisic to stay in Glasgow

Rangers star Borna Barisic is set to stay in Glasgow, according to a report from Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti.

They claim that family members have told them that the 28-year-old would not be leaving Ibrox today despite talk of a late move to Roma.

The report states that the left-back has not held talks with Jose Mourinho’s side, and the two clubs didn’t enter into negotiations for Barisic either.

Barisic to stay.

There had been fears that the Old Firm on Sunday was going to be Barisic’s last match for the Gers after he appeared to break down in tears at the full-time whistle.

Kris Boyd revealed that he thought this meant the 28-year-old was saying goodbye [Sky Sports 29/08/2021 via the Daily Record].

After the match, Gary McAllister hardly allayed fears over Barisic either with a cryptic answer over his future [Rangers TV].

However, it appears as if these fears and rumours of Barisic leaving were false, and it seems as if the Croatian will be staying at Ibrox.

If this is true, then this is wonderful news for the Gers as they get to keep a player who has been described as “fantastic” by his mentor Alen Petrovic in the past [the Scottish Sun].

Now, we just have to hope that the Gers keep the rest of their squad on what could be a nervous day for Rangers.

In other Rangers news, the Gers are set to keep another one of their players despite strong Premier League interest.
