Tam McManus slams John Lundstram start at Rangers
Rangers midfielder John Lundstram hasn’t had the best start to life at Ibrox after sealing a major summer move.
The former Sheffield United man has struggled, and it got worst after his red card against Alashkert on Thursday.
Tam McManus has been one of those to take aim at the midfielder, insisting he has been nothing more than a disappointment so far.
Speaking to PLZ Soccer on their official Twitter account, McManus wasn’t happy with Lundstram and his start.
“Lundstram for me, don’t fancy him, I don’t like the look of him,” he said.
“I think he’s struggling because Rangers have got so much of the ball, it’s totally different to before with Sheffield United.
“Now he’s got the ball, he’s got to be creative and I don’t think that’s his game – disappointing red card.”
Lundstram has left far too much to the imagination rather than going out and showing why we were all excited by his announcement.
Steven Gerrard will have been spitting feathers after that red card in midweek, as it was so unnecessary.
McManus mentions that Lundstram was much better on the counter-attack at Bramall Lane, and that is something that rarely happens at Ibrox.
As a midfielder who loves to get forward and score goals, he should thrive even more in Glasgow, and that just seems like an excuse.
We need to see much more from Lundstram, and fast, he won’t continue to get these chances from Gerrard.
