Rangers Super Fans destroy John Lundstram v Alashkert

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Rangers Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Ibrox. You can join in the discussion on our Rangers Insider Facebook page.

Rangers struggled their way to an opening leg victory over Alashkert in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

The Bears won 1-0 at Ibrox, and had to play more than half of the game with only 10-men thanks to John Lundstram.

Our major summer signing was shown his marching orders just before half-time, picking up two silly yellow cards.

Thankfully, it didn’t affect us too much.

Steven Gerrard wasn’t happy with the performance and surely would have wanted a bigger margin of victory to take into the second leg.

Lundstram complained in the press conference that he is still getting used to a new system, and should be judged after that, but didn’t help himself with this dismissal.

With Juninho Bacuna also arriving on Thursday, Lundstram will need to improve and quickly before slipping down the pecking order in Glasgow.

Gerrard finally has options available, and those who want consistent starts will need to prove themselves every single week – Lundstram isn’t doing that right now.

We asked our esteemed panel of Rangers Super Fans over on Facebook if Lundstram was already a flop, and the response was overwhelming.

The majority admitted that he has had a nightmare start to life at Ibrox, with some fuming with his performance last night.
