Rangers agree six-figure deal to sign Colombian striker Juan Alegria
Rangers have agreed terms on a six-figure deal to sign Colombian striker Juan Alegria from FC Honka, according to The Athletic.
The online news outlet claims Rangers are set to “seal the deal” to take the 19-year-old from the Finnish side.
The plan, however, is to integrate him slowly by placing him in the Rangers ‘B’ team alongside fellow new recruit Charlie McCann.

Writing via his personal Twitter profile, The Athletic’s Jordan Campbell offered an update on Alegria’s whereabouts on Thursday afternoon [19/08/21].
“19-year-old Colombian striker Juan Alegria set to a finalise move to Rangers,” he wrote.
“He’s understood to be in the country to complete the deal from Finnish side FC Honka.
“Good pedigree at youth level and someone Rangers’ scouting team travelled to watch.”
One for the future
Well, it looks like the club’s persistence has finally paid off.
Alegria has long been linked with a move to Ibrox, and it’s finally on the verge of being made official.
He will walk a similar path to that of Alfredo Morelos as a Colombian moving from Finland.
However, unlike Morelos, he will be moving immediately to the second-string side as he looks to adapt to his new surroundings.
That’s probably to be expected as he has not been as prolific as Morelos was and needs time to grow to the demands of senior football in Europe.
Hopefully, El Buffalo will be sticking around to nurture the teenager and show him what life in Glasgow is all about.
This might be a signing that doesn’t immediately excite supporters as he is not headed straight for the first team, but it could prove to be a shrewd move at such a low price.
In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has suggested that Light Blues stars are set to exit Ibrox as the club looks to balance their books.
