Juninho Bacuna introduced to Rangers fans at half-time v Alashkert
Rangers introduced Juninho Bacuna to fans at Ibrox on Thursday night after the midfielder agreed terms to join the Scottish champions from Huddersfield.
Bacuna, 24, saw his arrival at Ibrox confirmed on Twitter ahead of the 1-0 win against Alashkert in the Europa League.
Clyde 1 Superscoreboard then shared on their official Twitter account a video clip of Bacuna walking around the pitch at Ibrox waving at fans during half-time against the Armenian club.
Much-needed addition
Rangers’ start to the season has been well short of what has been expected.
John Lundstram, who was sent off for two yellow cards against Alashkert in the first half, has been absolutely woeful since joining on a free transfer from Huddersfield.
It remains to be seen whether or not Bacuna will be a step up from Lundstram but at least in him, we have someone who can play in a few different positions.
Bacuna is mainly an attack-minded midfielder who plays in the middle but he can also play on the right-wing, as a striker or even as a right-back.
That versatility can help but the squad is starting to look a bit bloated now. Did we need a utility man? Or is Bacuna coming in to replace someone who could be on their way out?
Glen Kamara has been linked with a move away from Ibrox, as have Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens in regards to the future of the key Gers players with the transfer window closing in less than two weeks’ time.
In other Rangers news, the Gers have made a multi-million bid to sign “one of the best players” in a European league.
