Tam McManus hails Rangers B star Alex Lowry

Rangers B have been on fire at the start of this season, and their free-scoring antics have been catching the eye.

Bringing in the likes of Charlie McCann from Manchester United, the young Bears are building a really competitive squad.

It was more of the same on Tuesday evening, as Stirling were swept aside with ease, the Gers winning 5-0.

Alex Lowry, Charlie Lindsay, Robbie Ure and McCann all found the back of the net on a wonderful evening.

Tam McManus was one of those who were blown away watching from the outside and took to his personal Twitter account.

The controversial pundit singled out Lowry and sent him a two-word message celebrating his goal.

“Flying kid,” he wrote.

Flying.

This is exactly what we want to be seeing, our youngsters shining.

It was Lowry’s first of the season, but he is no stranger to a superb assist when pushing forward – we need to see more of that throughout this season in the Lowland League.

Nathan Patterson and Calvin Bassey have been sensational in the first-team in recent years, and they will be the perfect motivation for these players.

Steven Gerrard will be keeping a close eye on these younger stars, and if they perform consistently, they will be given a chance.

That is the motivation, and we hope to see some of these names coming through the ranks in the years to come – McManus is clearly backing Lowry to succeed.
