Rangers to pay small fee with add-ons for Juninho Bacuna – Alan Nixon

Rangers are closing in on the signing of Huddersfield Town midfielder Juninho Bacuna, according to Alan Nixon.

The Sun journalist shared the update on Wednesday, with the Dutch-born talent set to pen a permanent deal at Ibrox.

It is suggested that the Bears will part with a small fee, but include numerous add-ons in the deal.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Nixon shared plenty of information on the pending transfer in Glasgow.

“Low with add ons on games,” he wrote.

Smart.

It looks as though we have played it safe with this one.

Paying an initial small fee with the add-ons could mean that if Bacuna doesn’t shine early into the deal, we may not pay as much.

Steven Gerrard will give him plenty of chances at Ibrox, but if he doesn’t repay that favour, he will be left on the bench or in the stands.

There is a clear want for more depth in the squad, and Bacuna will offer just that coming from the Championship.

The 24-year-old can play at right-back and in midfield, but with James Tavernier and Nathan Patterson already here, the latter is more probable.

In his 81 Championship appearances over the past two seasons, Bacuna has been involved in 20 goals – a number that we want to see improved in Glasgow.

With little money to fork out, this could prove to be a Ross Wilson masterstroke – fingers crossed.
