Leeds United unlikely to sign Ryan Kent, Rangers fans will be delighted

Leeds United are unlikely to sign Ryan Kent from Rangers this summer, claims Alan Nixon.

The Sun journalist has been spot on with his transfer reports, and Leeds seemed like the club most keen on signing the English attacker.

However, Gers are understood to have put a £15million price tag on his head, which is eventually going to put him beyond the Whites’ budget.

“It would still be in £15million range to get him,” he wrote.

“So I doubt that just now.”

This should come as fantastic news for the club as we are cash-strapped and Kent is one of our prized assets so selling him would ideally make sense to the onlooker.

He would also be an ideal fit for Marcelo Bielsa’s system given his direct running, work rate and end product.

However, as things stand, he’s unlikely to move to Elland Road and probably set for a stay at the Ibrox this summer.

Steven Gerrard admires Kent a great deal and a number of our attacks go through him.

He may not have enjoyed the best of starts to this season, but we know how good he can be when things get going.

Last season was a classic example of just how terrifying he is and we must do everything we can to keep him at the club.

He scored 13 goals and provided 15 assists in 52 appearances in all competitions – which are very good numbers for attackers not playing as lone strikers or taking penalties.

We back him to come good this time around as well and deliver similar numbers.

He’s truly one of our most talented players and Gerrard must think of building his team around the 24-year-old.
