Fenerbahce set to make approach for Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos
Fenerbahce are set to make an approach for Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos, according to Turkish news outlet Takvim.
Writing via their Twitter account on Monday morning [16/08/21], it is claimed Fenerbahce are expected to imminently step up their pursuit of the 25-year-old.
They wrote: “Fenerbahce are set to knock on Rangers’ door for attacker Morelos.”
On their website, Takvim reported that the Turkish giants have followed the Colombian for two years.
Fenerbahce manager Vitor Pereira is said to be keen on signing Morelos.

Clubs queuing up
Porto have been widely reported as the frontrunners to sign Morelos this summer though it appears that their interest may be fading after becoming disillusioned with the Gers’ price tag.
The Portuguese giants may be losing momentum in the race for Morelos, but it looks like Fenerbahce are just beginning to ramp up their admiration for El Buffalo.
They won’t have Champions League football like Porto this season, but they could still be playing European football as they are in the Europa League play-offs.
Incidentally, Fenerbahce have been drawn to face Morelos’ old side in the competition, with two games against Finnish outfit HJK Helsinki on the agenda in the coming weeks.
But would Morelos really want to leave Rangers for Fenerbahce? Is that a sideways step?
Traditionally, just like Rangers, they are a big club with ambitions in Europe.
But they’re not even the powerhouses they once were in Turkey, and they cannot provide Champions League football this season.
Morelos may receive more money in Turkey, but if his desire is to move on for sporting reasons, he might be best served avoiding a move to Fenerbahce.
In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has suggested that Light Blues stars are set to exit Ibrox as the club looks to balance their books.
