Chris Sutton shares instant reaction to Rangers cup draw
Chris Sutton has shared his instant reaction to the news that Rangers will play Livingston at Ibrox in the quarter-final of the Scottish League Cup.
Writing on his personal Twitter profile in the immediate aftermath of the draw taking place, the ex-Celtic striker offered up a five-word response.
He said: “Another home tie for Rangers…”
Bitter
Sutton can’t help himself – he sees news about Rangers and just has to tweet about it, even if it has little to no relevance.
Being drawn at home is a small quirk continuing a recent theme as Rangers’ last three cup games in Scotland have all been home ties.
We played Cove Rangers, Celtic and St Johnstone at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup in April.

However, our two League Cup fixtures last season came away against Falkirk and St Mirren, so they were pretty evenly spread.
Sutton seems to be hinting at some sort of Ibrox conspiracy, but more likely is that he’s just trying to antagonise the fanbase again and deflect more attention away from a Celtic side who nearly threw away a two-goal advantage against Hearts on Sunday.
Indeed, our bitter rivals were also handed a home draw in the quarter-final of the League Cup as they were paired to face Raith Rovers.
Thus, they have actually been given the ‘kindest’ draw out of all the eight teams left in the competition.
That doesn’t suit Sutton’s narrative though as he continues to prod Rangers fans.
His relentless bashing of the Gers is there for all to see, but recently it’s been the Light Blues that have left him smarting.
Let’s hope for more of the same this season.
In other Rangers news, this Light Blues ace will choose his next club in Europe soon as 21/22 Ibrox exit set to be sanctioned.
