The Sun shared the initial link, claiming the Bears could pay up to £35,000-a-week to seal a move for the free agent.
Steven Gerrard’s men crashing out of the Champions League looks to have brought those hopes to an end though.

It looks as though two sides have blown them out of the water and one of them will likely announce Cahill soon.
“Seems like a straight shootout between Norwich City and Bournemouth for Gary Cahill,” he wrote.
