Alex Crook: Straight shootout between Norwich & Bournemouth for Gary Cahill
Rangers have been linked with a big-money move for Gary Cahill all summer, but things look to have moved on.
The Sun shared the initial link, claiming the Bears could pay up to £35,000-a-week to seal a move for the free agent.
Steven Gerrard’s men crashing out of the Champions League looks to have brought those hopes to an end though.

TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has shared the latest on the ongoing saga on his personal Twitter account, with the Bears now seemingly out of the race.
It looks as though two sides have blown them out of the water and one of them will likely announce Cahill soon.
“Seems like a straight shootout between Norwich City and Bournemouth for Gary Cahill,” he wrote.
Move on.
There is much made of our Champions League exit and the financial hit we are going to take from it.
Moving past that, spending over £30,000-a-week on wages for a player coming to the end of his career seems more of a waste.
Cahill has won it all, but has he really shined at Crystal Palace in recent years? Not exactly.
With Conor Goldson, Filip Helander, Leon Balogun and Jack Simpson all to choose from, it would make zero sense to spend that much.
It’s time to move on for good, and leave these links far in the past and get back to our best on the pitch after a fragile start to the season.
