Ibrox chiefs keen on Caleb Chukwuemeka, Rangers face serious fight

Rangers are facing a serious fight to sign Northampton talent Caleb Chukwuemeka, according to the Daily Record.

Ibrox chiefs are said to be keen on the 19-year-old, who has been on the radar for many months now in Glasgow.

Premier League duo Aston Villa and Tottenham have also entered the race, with the strikers’ future well and truly in the air.

With interest growing, Chukwuemeka now has a decision to make.

It is mentioned that the teenage forward is being driven by Premier League speculation, which may imply we are bottom of the pile.

Despite first-team football no doubt being miles away at both of those clubs, it still looks as though they are leading the race.

Time to think.

Now is the time to join Rangers, with the likes of Ryan Kent proving that you can jump north of the border and experience real success.

There is also more chance of featuring for the first team down the line, with the Bears proving an attractive proposition to many young players in England.

Charlie McCann recently made that step from Manchester United, and Chukwuemeka could be the next.

There are real opportunities to score bucket-loads of goals in the Lowland Leagues as well, with our B team beating Gretna 2008 9-1 yesterday.

Keith Curle has previously insisted that the young attacker has that “bit of magic” – something which certainly excites us.

It looks unlikely at this moment in time, but Ross Wilson could still work his own magic as the window progresses.
