Scouts watch Jake Hastie play in Rangers B win
Jake Hastie was watched by scouts on Wednesday night as the Rangers B team beat Dumbarton in the SPFL Trust Trophy, according to the Daily Record.
Hastie, 23, has been linked with a move to Partick this summer with their manager Ian McCall having to rubbish speculation surrounding the Gers player last month [Rangers News].
Whoever watched Hastie on Wednesday is likely to have been impressed with the ex-Motherwell winger scoring in a 3-2 victory for the Gers’ B team.

Does Hastie have role to play at Ibrox?
Hastie’s performance against Dumbarton will no doubt have caught the eye of scouts who watched him on Wednesday night but it may have also pricked the ears of manager Steven Gerrard.
Rangers do not have the most well-stocked winger department, especially on Hastie’s preferred left-hand side of the attack.
Ryan Kent played a lot of football last season, not only because he’s the Gers’ best winger but also because he’s pretty much the only natural left-winger in Gerrard’s squad.
Hastie could provide back-up for Kent but based on how he’s done since joining the Gers two years ago, that might be too optimistic.
The former Scotland Under-21 international looked the real deal during his days at Motherwell but he’s since played just two times for the Light Blues and barely played for the Steelmen while on loan back at Fir Park last season.
Hastie played just 17 times in all competitions for Motherwell while on loan there last season, earning just seven starts in the Premiership.
He’s not good enough, unfortunately. And it may be time to sell the Law-born attacker as soon as we get the chance.
In other Rangers news, a journalist wasn’t able to attend the press conference at Ibrox on Tuesday night.
