Rangers Super Fans have flocked to a post on Rangers Insider’s Facebook page about Michael Stewart’s comments on the club’s financial situation after their Champions League exit.

Writing on his Twitter account this week, the former footballer turned pundit revealed that he is worried about the Gers and thinks that they might have to sell some players.

To support his claim, he includes an article from the BBC with quotes from Stewart Robertson about Rangers’ need to sell some players [BBC]. However, these comments have not gone down well with our Super Fans, who have ripped into Stewart.

Now, given that Rangers were in a bit of financial trouble, you could assume that the club will have to sell some players.

However, the last thing Rangers fans need to hear is Stewart warning them that their club is in trouble, so it is no wonder that the backlash against him from our Super Fans has been so severe.

It just appears to be a totally needless comment designed to wind up Gers fans who would have been hurting after their Champions League exit.

Therefore, we do agree with our Super Fans stance on these comments from Stewart and believe that the pundit really didn’t have to say anything about the situation.

Now, it remains to be seen what happens to the Gers but hopefully, everything works out for the club.
