Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is set to hold talks with his senior players

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is set to hold talks with his senior players as he looks to put an end to their poor run of form.

Speaking to the Scottish Sun, the former Liverpool man revealed that he was intending to hold talks with his senior players in an effort to get the Gers back to winning ways.

The report describes these conversations as “crisis talks”, and it will be intriguing to see if they have the desired impact.

Gerrard said: “We have got strong leaders in the dressing room. I trust them a lot.

“I will speak to them in the coming days, and they have got [a] big responsibility to reset and go again.

“I will be chatting to my senior players, trying to pick them up and then we will prepare in the best way we can.”

Will Gerrard get the reaction he wants?

It could be argued that Gerrard relying on his senior players is what got him into this mess to start with as the likes of James Tavernier and Scott Arfield really struggled on Tuesday night against Malmo [Daily Record].

However, it is very clear that the 41-year-old has total faith in his senior players, and he will be looking for them to bounce back tomorrow night.

The Gers have lost three games in a row in all competitions to start this season off poorly.

However, there is still so much time for them to turn it around, and it is good to hear that Gerrard will be talking to his players and reminding them of their expectations.

However, words mean nothing unless the Gers fans get to see that response on the pitch, and we hope that tomorrow night, Rangers bounce back in style and end this poor run of form.

In other Rangers news, one Gers player has been ruled out of the Dunfermline clash.
