Richard Foster: Rangers will need to sell some of their prized assets
Rangers getting knocked out of the Champions League is going to have huge financial implications, claims Richard Foster.
Gers suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Malmo despite playing one half against 10 men and a one-goal lead.
The defending Scottish champions may have made projections based on Champions League revenues, but they will be without them for this season.

Discussing the loss, the former Rangers defender told BBC Radio Scotland, “This is going to have huge financial implications for Rangers.
“They need to sell players.
“Losing their biggest assets will weaken them dramatically.”
End is nigh
Everything looked like it was going as per plan as we won the league last season going unbeaten and had a relatively decent transfer window to not only win the title again, but also qualify and possibly push for the Champions League knockout rounds.
However, after a few weeks into the new campaign, everything is seeming gloomy once again, which has been a rarity under Steven Gerrard.

Last night’s loss is undoubtedly going to result in us selling some of our key players which is completely the opposite way a club on the high is supposed to operate.
Given our finances, this is just something that we cannot get away with. The likes of Alfredo Morelos, Glen Kamara, Ryan Kent and Borna Barisic have all been linked with the exit door and we won’t be surprised if a few of them actually end up leaving this summer.
Hopefully, it does not have a devastating effect on the rest of the squad as things like these can instantly bring down the dressing-room morale.
