Ally McCoist and Laura Woods discuss four potential Rangers player exits after Malmo loss
Laura Woods and Ally McCoist were left to discuss possible Rangers player exits on Wednesday morning after the Gers crashed out of the Champions League versus Malmo.
Steven Gerrard’s side were beaten 2-1 by the Swedish side who had just ten men for the entire second half after a controversial red card just before half-time.
That, combined with the same scoreline in the first leg, ensured the Light Blues exited the competition and led Woods to cast doubts over a few Ibrox stars on talkSPORT Breakfast [11/08/21].

Woods pondered: “Alfredo Morelos is linked with a move, Glen Kamara has suitors as well, should they cash in on [James] Tavernier, what do you think?
McCoist replied: “I don’t know the club’s finances anymore and I’m guessing but if an offer comes in they would certainly think about it, but the good thing is they do have players they can cash in on.
“Morelos was top class for 45 minutes last night, Kamara has been brilliant. [Ryan] Kent they spent a few quid on from Liverpool but obviously, the rumours are that Leeds are still hovering around and are interested in taking him.
“Tavernier last season was terrific. So it wouldn’t surprise me to see one or two players moved on, that’s just the nature of football and business.”

Set to sacrifice one?
In terms of the four mentioned, Tavernier would probably be the most preferable one to let go given his age, but that is also likely to see him gain less suitors and a smaller fee, while his status as Rangers captain is sure to see Gerrard try and cling onto him.
Kent doesn’t appear to be angling for a move and should stay for another year at least, but the futures of Morelos and Kamara are more uncertain.
The Colombian has been consistently linked with a move to Portuguese giants Porto during the summer, and is likely to want to pursue his Champions League dream there.
Kamara, meanwhile, is widely reported to have interest from the Premier League.
Rangers will suffer as a result of the failure to qualify for the Champions League and the riches the group stage would have offered, so casualties might have to be made.
In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has suggested that Light Blues stars are set to exit Ibrox as the club looks to balance their books.
