Tom English predicts ‘huge’ Rangers evening v Malmo
Tom English has predicted a “huge” evening at Ibrox as Rangers take on Malmo in the Champions League tonight.
The BBC pundit doesn’t have the best of relationships with the Bears and believes it would create a big problem should they crash out of the competition.
With great financial stakes on the line, Steven Gerrard will be desperate to see his side progress to the play-off round before the group stage.

Speaking on the BBC Sportsound podcast, English predicted big problems on the horizon based on tonight’s result.
“On the face of it, you’d say it’s too early to send out the distress signals,” he said.
“Once you get into a rut, it’s hard to get out of it. It’s especially hard to get out of it if you’re facing 50,000 fans who are demanding high standards.
“It’s a huge moment, even if it is ridiculously early in the season. If they go out of the Champions League, they’ve got a problem.”

Atmosphere.
We’re fed up of people insisting that Rangers aren’t used to performing in front of a crowd, and using the defeat against Dundee United as an example.
That was an off day, and having 50,000+ fans all screaming for the home side this evening will only be a positive.
We all remember those Europa League nights against the likes of Braga before COVID-19, and how the crowd was critical in pushing the side over the line.
Not many listen to English when he drops his verdict, but everyone will admit that this evening is certainly “huge.”
Gerrard will be desperate for a brilliant performance, and if we don’t concede, that should leave us with one foot in the next round.
