Rangers fans set off fireworks ahead of Champions League clash with Malmo

Rangers fans have been spotted setting off fireworks at 2 am next to Malmo’s hotel ahead of their huge Champions League clash.

Footage has emerged showing fireworks being set off near the Crowne Plaza hotel, where the Malmo players were staying ahead of tonight’s game [@deegill93’s Twitter account].

The Swedish side head into the match with a slender one-goal advantage, but their captain Anders Christiansen admitted that his side were tired after their last game in the league, and it seems as if Gers fans have pounced on that admission [the Scottish Sun].

Funny stuff.

Ultimately, you have to find this funny as it is unlikely to have had too much impact on the Malmo side but shows just how determined Rangers fans are to get through to the next round of the Champions League.

The fact that they went through that trouble to purchase the fireworks and locate the Malmo players just shows how much this tie means to the Gers.

Ibrox should be absolutely full tonight, and we can’t wait to see the Rangers fans back supporting their team.

Hopefully, the Gers show up and put the last two performances behind them to move that one step closer to the UEFA Champions League group stages.

This group of players deserve to make it through to the group stages, and it is clear from this footage that the fans are doing anything they can to help as well.

We’ve seen a lot of fireworks in recent months, and hopefully, we can see some more after the game this evening.
