Malmo goalkeeper Johan Dahlin insists full Ibrox won’t faze him ahead of Rangers game

Rangers have been handed a massive boost ahead of their Champions League qualifiers against Malmo, with Ibrox set for a full capacity crowd for the clash.

After government restrictions were eased 50,000 Bears fans will attempt to cheer Steven Gerrard’s men to victory after a 2-1 loss at Sweden last week, but the side’s goalkeeper Johan Dahlin, 34, insists he could not care less.

Malmo have to prevent a defeat at Ibrox to book a place in the play-off rounds of the European elite competition, but Rangers fans will be ready to inspire the hosts to a much-needed win.

“It is how it is. I’ve been here a long time and something like this won’t bother me,” Dahlin said (via Daily Record).

“I honestly can’t say I have even thought about the atmosphere. Games are like that sometimes.

“We are in a good place because we have managed to keep four clean sheets in the league in a row and I had very little to do against Halmstads.”

Think again Dahlin

The Swedish international is as experienced as they come and he surely has faced all types of crowds during his long professional career.

However, he needs to think again about what to expect at Ibrox, and nothing would have prepared him for it.

We have not played in the group stages of the Champions League for 10 years, and the fans are not going to let another chance pass by.

The Rangers supporters know they can intimidate Malmo with their presence and hostility while inspiring the Light Blues to victory, and they are going to give their all.

The Swedes are not in any way better than us, and we can secure a win if everyone does their respective jobs well on that pitch.

Two defeats in a row would not have done the players’ confidence any good, but they need to use that as fuel to get the job done on Tuesday night.

The Ibrox crowd will be supporting them from the first minute to the final whistle, and they cannot afford to disappoint.
