Rangers Super Fans react to Glenn Middleton loan exit

This is part of a regular series from our panel of Rangers Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around Ibrox. You can join in the discussion on our Rangers Insider Facebook page.

Glenn Middleton finally sealed his loan return to St Johnstone this week, leaving Rangers for yet another season.

Steven Gerrard gave the winger another chance during pre-season, but he clearly didn’t do enough to prove himself.

The Bear did admit that they will be watching the attacker closely throughout this spell, but he will need to do something special.

There are a number of attacking options already at Ibrox.

Fashion Sakala has arrived during the summer, adding to the likes of Ryan Kent, Joe Aribo and Ianis Hagi behind our strikers.

No matter what happens at McDiarmid Park this season, it is hard to find a spot for the attacking flyer in our side.

The likes of Brandon Barker have found that out the hard way in recent years, and it is a surprise that none of these moves were actually permanent.

We asked our esteemed panel of Super Fans over on Facebook whether or not Middleton can force his way into our plans next season, and the response was overwhelming.

The majority of them called for the winger to be shown the exit door, with him being handed more than enough chances to impress.

Here’s what they said…

It looks as though Middleton has burned his bridges with fans at Ibrox, and they would be happy to never see him in the first team.
