Kris Boyd urges John Lundstram to improve after blunder v Dundee United
John Lundstram was singled out for criticism by Kris Boyd as Rangers suffered a 1-0 defeat to Dundee United.
Defender Jamie Robson grabbed the game’s only goal to end the Gers’ unbeaten run in the league after they ended last season without losing a single game.
New signing Lundstram started the game, and according to the Sky Sports pundit was to be blamed for the winner.
Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Boyd said, “John Lundstram switches off for the goal and I know it’s early days, but he’s got to improve.
“We’ve seen big names come here and struggle in the past and he’s going to have to up his game.”
Needs to improve
Lundstram came to the Ibrox in the summer with the club hoping he’ll strengthen our playing eleven. He’s undoubtedly a cracking player who on his day can be one of the best midfielders in the league, but so far he’s done very little to impress.
He’s looked off the pace after a relatively low-key season in the Premier League with Sheffield United and it’s now time he steps up and takes his game to the next level.

The 27-year-old was dispossessed five times today per Sofascore and didn’t seem to prevent the ball from being played into the box which the left-back eventually slotted home.
These are early days, but a few mistakes now could cost us dearly in the future. We’re hoping that we see a much improved performance on Tuesday, not just from Lundstram but the entire team altogether.
