Charlie Adam delivers verdict amid Rangers-SPFL fallout
Charlie Adam has stated that Rangers deserve a larger share of the pie amid their current dispute with the SPFL.
Rangers are in the midst of a fallout with the league sponsors cinch as managing director Stewart Robertson has insisted that they are not obligated to advertise the online car dealer.
Per The Daily Record, they were not featured on any advertising material for the weekend’s game against Livingston and it has sparked fears that cinch could walk away from their existing £8million agreement.

Discussing this fallout on The PLZ Football Show, Adam said, as quoted by the Daily Record, “We talked about it during the pandemic, how we never had a sponsorship for the main league in Scotland is just incredible.
“The big clubs, Rangers and Celtic, they want the most of the pie. It’s understandable why, but the other 10 clubs have to have a say as well.
“The only way you can do that is all getting in a room and talking. There is no point in emails and doing it through the press.
“They need to all get round a table and come to a decision.
“If that is Rangers and Celtic getting more of the pie, that’s what it has to be. As long as the other clubs are getting rewarded as well.”
Fair enough
We’re one of the league’s biggest revenue generators so it’s understandable why some people at the club would want a bigger piece of the pie.

However, it’s imperative that we go about this the right away and Adam is absolutely spot on about it.
There has to be more transparency in these discussions and the other 10 clubs must also be brought to the table and understand each others’ points of view.
According to The Daily Mail, the club had warned the SPFL of their concerns over an £8million agreement with cinch even before the deal was signed.
It remains to be seen how this one is resolved, but we hope a resolution is reached as soon as possible as it’s not making either party look good and that’s not a distraction we need when we’ve got Champions League qualification and title retention to focus on.
