Barry Fry claims no club has contacted him about Siriki Dembele
Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry claims that no club has contacted him about supposed Rangers target Siriki Dembele.
The Gers were linked with a move for the 24-year-old forward after he had a stellar season for the League One side, scoring 12 goals and providing 12 assists. However, it doesn’t appear as if they or anybody else have made a move for Dembele.
Fry was very dismissive here, and it appears as if, for now, Dembele isn’t going to be moving to Ibrox [Peterborough Telegraph].

He said: “As for Siriki, I suspect that’s his agent trying to drum up interest.
“I’ve heard nothing from any of those clubs [teams linked with Dembele].”
Will Rangers sign Dembele?
Fry seems to think that all of the talk about Dembele leaving Peterborough is down to his agent, which, if true, could mean that the Gers were never interested in signing him.
The Ivorian-born attacker can play pretty much anywhere across the frontline, so he could be a good addition for the Gers.
However, they already have a lot of wingers and forwards, so do they really need any more?

You could argue they don’t, and even though Dembele has been described as “absolutely outstanding” by Darren Ferguson and has performed well in League One, this one might be a player they are better off avoiding [Peterborough Telegraph].
It certainly appears as if they haven’t made a move for the 24-year-old, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Dembele’s agent just used the Gers to generate more interest in his client from other clubs.
In other Rangers news, one pundit has made a bold prediction involving the Gers and Celtic.
