Davie Provan blasts Greg Stewart for what he said about Rangers
Sky Sports pundit Davie Provan has blasted Greg Stewart for admitting he “wasn’t really bothered” about his lack of game-time at Rangers last season.
Stewart, 31, was released by the Light Blues after the end of last season, in which he played just eight times in all competitions.
Steven Gerrard’s men won the Premiership title with little help from Stewart but in an interview with the Daily Record, the free agent admitted that he was not fussed by his low appearance count.

Writing on the Scottish Sun website, Provan slammed Stewart for his words and suggests he may find it difficult to get a new club with that attitude.
“Rangers free transfer Greg Stewart isn’t doing himself any favours if he’s hoping to get a decent club.
“Asked for his take on being out of the picture at Ibrox last season, he said: ‘I wasn’t really bothered if I played or not. I felt like I had to be a good team-mate and push the guys ahead of me to make sure we got across the line.’
“Wasn’t really bothered? Have a word with yourself son.”

Out of context
Trust Provan to twist Stewart’s words.
The former Gers attacker was speaking to the Daily Record about his lack of game-time at Ibrox and was basically saying that the most important thing was winning the title.
Of course he wanted to play more. You shouldn’t be a footballer if you don’t want to be on the pitch playing.
Stewart was simply pointing out that the biggest thing last season was winning number 55 and he can understand why he wasn’t getting many minutes on the pitch.
At the end of the day, Stewart wasn’t good enough for us.
He left Ibrox earlier this summer after making just 33 appearances in all competitions for the club and scoring only three times.
Last term, the ex-Birmingham man didn’t even start a game. He knows why that was the case. He’s not deluded – unlike those across the other side of Glasgow.
In other Rangers news, a player has left his club amid speculation about a big-money move to Ibrox.
