Tam McManus backs Rangers to become Scotland’s richest club
Tam McManus has backed Rangers to become the richest club in Scotland this season as they continue their rise.
Celtic have been nothing short of horrendous in the past 18 months, and crashed out of the Champions League at the first hurdle yet again.
Reaching the group stages earns a club £30-35million, and Rangers begin their campaign against Malmo on Tuesday.

Speaking to PLZ Soccer, McManus has predicted big things for the future of the Bears financially at Ibrox.
“Celtic have gone so far back, and Rangers have just overtaken them,” he said.
“I think if they get in the Champions League, they will become the richest club in Scottish football, and that was unthinkable three or four years ago.
“Celtic had all the money in the bank, and they could have powered away. All of a sudden, Celtic fans are now tipping Rangers to win the league.”

Bring it on.
As McManus mentioned, this should have been impossible.
Celtic were miles ahead, we had to start all over again, and only five years ago, we had only just earned promotion to the same division.
To not only turn that around to become challengers, but to win the Scottish Premiership in an invincible campaign, is one of sports greatest achievements.
Add to that, the Bears dragging Scottish football through Europe single handily, and it has been a wild ride in recent years.
Bringing home over £30million would be huge for the club, but there are hard games to come before that happens, including the tie with Malmo.
Steven Gerrard won’t be complacent, but he will be doing everything in his power to get to the group stage – something that from this season is guaranteed for the league winner.
Bring it on, it’s time to turn the screw even further.
