Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Jack ruled out of Rangers v Livingston
Steven Gerrard has confirmed Alfredo Morelos will miss Rangers’ season opener against Livingston at Ibrox on Saturday.
Morelos, 25, was granted an extended holiday after playing for Colombia at Copa America earlier in the summer.
As quoted on Rangers’ official Twitter account ahead of their first Premiership match of the new season, Gerrard confirmed Ryan Jack is also out.

“We still have Ryan Jack to return, he has one more appointment in a few weeks to get the green light to fully return,” said Gerrard.
“Alfredo will rejoin sometime next week so the squad is looking really strong. If there is not a need to add we won’t do it.”
Should win
Even without Morelos and Jack, Rangers should win this match.
Fashion Sakala and Cedric Itten have shown good form in pre-season fixtures to suggest they’ll be able to put in fine performances while Morelos gets back up to speed after a hectic summer.
As for the midfield, we managed most of last season without Jack so there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be able to manage in the coming weeks while he continues his recovery.
Jack’s injury issues are a concern.
He’s one of the best midfielders in the Premiership when he’s fit and available to play but the amount of time he’s spending on the sidelines is worrying.
How long is he going to be able to continue playing at such a high level? How long will it before his form drops for good?
Jack turns 30 in February and has just two years left on his contract.
If he wants a new deal, he’s going to have to start proving his fitness.
