Alan Brazil: It will be Steven Gerrard’s last season at Rangers
Alan Brazil claims Steven Gerrard is in his final year as manager at Rangers with the 2021/22 Premiership season set to kick off this weekend.
After winning the Gers’ 55th league title last season, the minimum expectation for Gerrard will be to retain that in the upcoming campaign.
Celtic are currently well behind Rangers, in the eyes of talkSPORT host Brazil, who supports the Hoops.

Jamie O’Hara claimed in a clip on talkSPORT’s YouTube channel that Celtic won’t be able to win the Premiership next season and Brazil said: “I think you’re right, they won’t win the league. But listen, you can’t say the season is over.
O’Hara then replied: “What have they got to play for if they’re not in Europe?”
Brazil answered: “To get closer to Rangers.”
Ex-Tottenham man O’Hara couldn’t believe Brazil said that and said: “Come on, that’s not acceptable. Getting close to Rangers?”
TalkSPORT guest Michael Dawson then pointed out how well a job Steven Gerrard has done at Ibrox, leading to Brazil saying: “This will be his last season – he’ll be leaving.”
You won’t ruffle our feathers
It’s pretty clear what Brazil is trying to do here and just provoke a reaction from us Bears.
It won’t work, Alan. Unfortunately for you.
Celtic are absolutely in the mud after their Champions League knock-out blow.
It means they won’t win as much money this season due to dropping into the Europa League, where they’ll play Polish side Jablonec next week.
We would not put it past the Hoops to lose to them and get completely knocked out of Europe based on the way they have played in the last 12 months.
For the good of Scottish football, they need to reach the group stages because the more money in the game in Scotland, the more money clubs like us will be able to spend.
And the more money we’re able to spend, the more competitive we’ll be in Europe and the stronger we’ll get in the Premiership.
Rangers have worked hard to get two Champions League spots for the Premiership, massively outperforming Celtic in recent seasons in Europe.
Of course they are the ones who are completely messing it up for themselves, us and everyone else in the league.
In other Rangers news, the Gers have agreed a six-figure fee to secure this new signing.
