Charlie Adam impressed with Fashion Sakala's performance against Real Madrid
Fashion Sakala opened his account for Rangers yesterday (Sunday) during the 2-1 friendly win over Real Madrid at Ibrox.
According to The Athletic journalist Jordan Campbell, the 24-year-old rejected offers from the big five European leagues to join the Light Blues, and Charlie Adam is impressed to hear about it.
The Dundee skipper was blown away with Sakala’s performance against the Spanish giants, responding to Campbell’s report on the forward through his official Twitter account this morning.
“Might have found a good one,” he wrote.

A good one indeed
Sakala made his debut in the goalless draw against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday, and was finally pleased to get 30 minutes in the tank after Covid-19 and passport related issues delayed him from linking up with the rest of the squad after joining in May.

The former KV Oostende star hit the ground running against Madrid, coming very close to grabbing the opener a few minutes into the clash.
The Rangers new man drew us level in the second-half before Cedric Itten grabbed a late winner, and we cannot wait to see him in action when competitive games begin.
Adam knows a thing or two about quality players, and he seems to reckon manager Steven Gerrard might have hit the Jackpot with the free signing of Sakala.
The Ibrox outfit play either Malmo or Helsinki on August 4 and 10 in both legs of the Champions League qualifying round, and with Kemar Roofe unavailable for selection due to suspension and Alfredo Morelos still on holiday, we can count on the African star to deliver.
Scoring against the biggest club on the planet would have given him all the morale-boosting confidence in the world, and a bargain signing is definitely on our hands.
In other Rangers news, announcement is due this week after major Ibrox development.
