Derek McInnes: Morelos agents likely working on Rangers exit
Alfredo Morelos’ agents are working on getting the striker a move away from Rangers, according to ex-Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes.
Morelos, 25, has had speculation lingering around his future for what feels like the entirety of his four-year spell in Glasgow after he joined from HJK Helsinki for £1million in 2017.
There has been a lot of talk about the Colombian’s future this summer too with him being strongly linked with a move to Porto [A Bola].

McInnes wants Morelos to say and believes Steven Gerrard feels the same way.
“Alfredo Morelos has been tipped for a move for what seems like years. I don’t know the boy or what he’s thinking, but I’m pretty sure his agents will be working to try to get him as good a move as possible,” said BBC pundit McInnes, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“But Rangers can provide Morelos with so much. Financially, he will be looked after. There’s an opportunity to play in the Champions League and, hopefully very soon, he will be back playing in front of 50,000 supporters who adore him.
“If I was Stevie and knew I could keep him onside and happy, I would not want to lose Morelos.
“Last season, I thought he was a fantastic team player. He chased lost causes, pulled defenders out of position. He helped the team even when he wasn’t the main beneficiary of that work.”

It could be time to say bye
Morelos has been one of the best strikers we’ve had at Ibrox in recent history.
During the last four years, the Colombian has scored 94 goals in 182 appearances across all competition for the Gers and fired us to title number 55 last season.
We’re Scottish champions and will be playing group stage football in Europe next season, whether it be in the Champions League or Europa League remains to be seen.
Either way, we’re in a far better place now than we were in 2017 when an unknown South American striker swapped Helsinki for Glasgow.
If Morelos goes, we’ll be sad. However, if he goes we will also be understanding and be thankful for what he’s doing for us.
Let’s face it, Porto would be a massive move. They’re a team who regularly makes the Champions League knock-out stages and win silverware far more often than we will.
He’ll probably also be paid better, as he would at most clubs if he opts to quit Ibrox this summer.
Let’s not be resentful if he goes and let’s not get angry over what could happen this summer because at the end of the day, he deserves the freedom to do what he wishes.
In other Rangers news, the Gers are willing to cash in on these two big-name players if the right offer comes in.
