Alan Hutton blown away by Fashion Sakala v Real Madrid
New Rangers signing Fashion Sakala impressed Sky Sports pundit Alan Hutton even before he scored in the 2-1 win over Real Madrid.
Gers dominated proceedings in the first half and were unfortunate to see Real take the lead when Rodrygo scored against the run of play.
However, they came back strong in the second half and scored two goals to win the contest with Sakala and Cedric Itten finding the back of the net.
Sakala started the game as the lone striker against Los Blancos and proved to be a constant thorn in the side of Victor Chust and Alvaro Odriozola.

He did not half too much luck in front of goal in the first period, but found the back of the net in the second.
Discussing the first half of the game on Rangers TV, Hutton said, “Sakala got himself into great positions. He’s been playing at a 100mph.
“He needs to be patient, he’s still getting used to his teammates but he’s still been so good.
“Even for the Rodrygo goal [before possession turned over], he showed the composure in the final third. All through the game, he’s been in the right positions.”
Impressing from the off
There’s no greater feeling in football than to see a new signing hit the ground running and while this may only be a pre-season game, Sakala’s done just that.

With Alfredo Morelos, Jermain Defoe and Kemar Roofe missing, Steven Gerrard turned to his new signing to lead the line, and the Zambian did not disappoint.
He was making runs beyond the Real Madrid defence on numerous occasions and combined exceptionally well with Ryan Kent on the left flank.
Sakala played an hour of football before he was subbed off by Gerrard for 24-year-old striker Itten, who happened to be the only out-and-out number nine on the bench.
As far as opening impressions go, Sakala’s certainly impressed the Rangers fans at the Ibrox and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the table in the coming games.
