Report: Jonson Clarke-Harris keen on Rangers switch this summer
Rangers target Jonson Clarke-Harris is reportedly keen on moving to the Ibrox this summer after guiding Peterborough to promotion last season.
According to The Daily Record, he fancies a move to Rangers amid other clubs showing a keen interest in his services.
The report states that Bournemouth, Sheffield United, West Brom and 2005 UEFA Cup winners CSKA Moscow are all closely monitoring the 27-year-old.
Gers have been long-term admirers of the striker and have scouted him extensively last season when he bagged an impressive tally of 33 goals.
We’re unsure about what the future holds for Alfredo Morelos and if the player fancies walking out through the exit door this summer, then we’ve got a more than capable replacement in Clarke-Harris.
He’s been a striker who’s had his fair share of ups and downs, but he appears to have found his best form now and it’s the ideal time to bring him to the Ibrox.
At 27, it can be argued that he’s at his peak and would be a terrific addition for us.
We may not be short on options in the final third even if Morelos leaves, but he would certainly be a guaranteed starter who would be an upgrade on the likes of Jermain Defoe and Kemar Roofe.
Ross Wilson should be all over signing Clarke-Harris this summer as if he doesn’t get him to the club then another team is likely to snap up his services.
In today’s market, we would have to overpay for another striker should Morelos leave and it’s better that we sign a proven name like Clarke-Harris who has continually proven that he’s ready to take the step up in his career.
The lure of playing in the Champions League and for the Scottish champions is possibly what made him pick us over the other suitors.
