Steven Gerrard details frustration over Alfredo Morelos speculation

Steven Gerrard is fed up with talking about Alfredo Morelos’ Rangers future and refused to confirm or deny rumours linking him with a move away from Ibrox this summer.

Speaking to Sky Sports about the upcoming season, Gerrard revealed that he was bored of talking about the Colombian who has been constantly linked with a move to Porto by reports from Portugal.

However, when asked about the topic, Gerrard revealed his feelings on the matter, and it appears as if he has had enough of talking about Morelos.

He said: “I have read a lot of stuff around Alfredo – I know where it is coming from. I don’t know what is going to happen with him.

“I get asked this question every window, every few weeks because you read more about Alfredo in terms of who he is linked with or where he is possibly going to go rather than talking about what he does on the football pitch.

“So, it is getting a bit tiresome that question now.”

Morelos to stay?

Gerrard did indicate that he wasn’t sure what was going to happen, but despite all the constant links in the Portuguese media, Morelos is still a Gers player, and as it stands, he will be playing for them in the 2021/22 season.

Of course, there is still time for him to leave the club, and if Rangers receive a good offer, then we expect him to go.

However, until that happens, he is still a Gers player, and we understand why Gerrard is bored of all this speculation.

It can’t be helpful for the player, the club, or Gerrard, so hopefully, his future is resolved soon one way or the other.

Obviously, it would be fantastic if Morelos stayed because he has nearly scored 100 goals for Rangers and has been an excellent signing since he joined in 2017.

Porto could still come in and sign him, but for now, he is a Rangers player, and people should respect that.

In other Rangers news, the Gers could be ready to sell two of their best players this summer.
