Rangers ready to cash in on Alfredo Morelos and Ianis Hagi

Alfredo Morelos and Ianis Hagi could be sold by Rangers before the end of the summer transfer window, according to GiveMeSport.

The football news website reports that the Gers are ready to cash in on Morelos, 25, and Hagi, 22, to help raise funds to strengthen their squad.

GiveMeSport reports that while “selling two of their biggest names might not sound overly ambitious”, the chance to raise funds is “tempting”.

As a result, it is understood that if the right offers are made, both striker Morelos and attacking midfielder Hagi could be moved on by the Light Blues.

Hagi, maybe – Morelos, definitely not

When you look at the Rangers squad that won the league last season, there are not too many players who you’d be willing to see leave.

Of course, there are fringe players like Jordan Jones, Brandon Barker and George Edmundson who would be almost instantly forgotten if they failed to turn up at Ibrox again but there are some who are in a bit of a grey area.

Hagi is one of them.

The Romania international was good last season. He wasn’t amazing and he wasn’t bad. He was good.

Steven Gerrard like to play the Romanian playmaker out wide and that didn’t help him out to start with but as the season went on, the 22-year-old did become more accustomed to the role.

Ally McCoist, as quoted by the Scottish Sun, dubbed Hagi as an “extremely gifted” player and we would certainly agree on that.

However, he is replaceable and if we can get a decent fee, selling him could be a good option.

As for Morelos, there’s no way he should be sold unless a mega-money bid comes in this summer.

In other Rangers news, a Russian club has made a “lucrative” offer to sign this Gers star.
