Jordan Campbell: Rangers eyeing big-money for star quartet in coming windows
Rangers are eyeing up big money in the coming transfer windows for star men Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent, Glen Kamara and Joe Aribo, according to Jordan Campbell.
The Athletic journalist, writing on his personal Twitter profile, believes Rangers are banking on substantial fees for four players who played instrumental roles in their Premiership success last season.
Campbell said: “Kamara, Kent, Morelos, Aribo are the big-ticket items (with two+ years on deals) the club will hope to make the serious money on in the coming windows.”
Inevitable exits at some stage
All clubs in Scotland are vulnerable to losing their star players at some stage due to the financial disparities between the Scottish Premiership and other top-flight leagues in Europe, particularly the Premier League in England.
As such, supporters have become accustomed to their best players leaving, and it’s generally an accepted part of life in Scotland.
However, what’s unsettling about the situation at Rangers is that all four of the aforementioned players could be leaving withing the space of a year.
Usually, star players are let go one at a time, but this group under Steven Gerrard has been steadily building for a few years now, and they’re all reaching their peak at similar stages.

Kent, Morelos, Aribo and Kamara are all either 24 or 25 and entering the peak years of their career.
As such, this is the perfect time to ‘cash in’ on them, but the Gers must be wary of how they approach their sales.
Clearly, it appears highly unlikely that there will be multiple departures this summer – Morelos seems the most likely to leave having been at the club since 2017, and heavily linked with Porto – but there have also been reports linking Kamara with a move to the Premier League this summer.
That would leave two huge holes that the Light Blues would have to fill in a relatively short amount of time.
Therefore, if the club can limit it to just one this summer that would minimise the disruption to the side.
But, long term, that could lead to a trio of stars eyeing up an exit next summer, an even bigger task to recover from.
It’s up to the figureheads at the clubs to make the right call now.
