Ianis Hagi details delight with life at Rangers

Rangers star Ianis Hagi has been speaking to the Guardian about his father and his love for the Gers.

Rangers signed the Romanian international in January 2020 initially on loan, and in that time since he joined, he has scored 11 goals and provided 17 assists.

He also seems to have fallen in love with the club and can’t wait to compete in the Champions League. Hagi has been a big success for Rangers since he joined, and it was fascinating to hear him speak so highly of the club [Guardian].

He said: “I just fell in love with Rangers.

“I’ve enjoyed every second of being here because the coaching staff are unbelievable, and I’ve grown so much in the past 18 months.

“It’s a really good environment for a player to grow into because I’m learning about the mentality of winning. Every person at this club pushes you to discover yourself as a player, and that has helped me to keep improving.

“It’s been nice, but it’s history. Now we are so focused on what we have to achieve next season.

“Trying to compete in the Champions League and domestically is going to take a massive effort, but there is so much hunger in this team, and we can’t wait for the season to begin.”

Hagi clearly loving life at Rangers!

Interestingly, the Romanian mentions the coaching staff and signals them out for praise, suggesting that the team that Steven Gerrard has around him has brought the best out of this squad.

The 22-year-old has been excellent for the Gers and has been described as “outstanding” by Gerrard for some of his displays since he arrived at Ibrox [BBC].

In this interview, Hagi comes across as a genuine person who deeply cares about the club he represents.

However, what is clear to see is that he is not happy with just one league title, and he wants more. This is a fantastic trait to have, and it suggests that the Gers will not be complacent going into this season as they look to retain the SPFL title.

Hagi clearly highlights what he thinks has helped him and the team improve their game, and it seems as if there has been some good work done on the training ground, and for that, Gerrard and his staff deserve great credit.

In other Rangers news, a reported Gers target has been urged to move to Ibrox.
