Alfredo Morelos agent in Portugal for seperate deal

The transfer saga between Rangers and Porto regarding Alfredo Morelos looks set to continue throughout the window.

Michael Gorman, the Colombian international’s agent has travelled to Portugal, but that was to broker another deal.

The Daily Record have shared the major update, as Morelos’ fellow countryman Yerson Mosquera sealed a move to Wolves.

Gorman isn’t there working on a deal for Morelos then.

That is the perfect news we all needed, although it doesn’t mean he won’t be doing anything for this deal between now and next month.

There has been no movement over the past couple of weeks while the COPA America was going on, with Morelos now on holiday.

Steven Gerrard has a massive role to play in the future of his main man, surely he would never sanction this unless silly money came in.

Only positive news.

After weeks of suggestions that Porto were on the verge of completing this deal, they appear to be nowhere near.

Porto haven’t even cleared one of the first hurdles yet, and that is any sort of talks and maybe even agreeing to personal terms.

If Gorman is on duty for another one of his clients, Mosquera’s future was the immediate priority, and Morelos was put on the back burner.

We can relax for now, but this isn’t to say that more rumours will start sparking over the next couple of months.

Morelos is here to stay, but we will feel much more relaxed should he be lining up against Livingston on the opening day.
